Every calculator on this site runs in your browser. Your postcode and your consumption figures are not sent to us, and we do not pass anything to installers. If a solar website asks for your phone number before it will show you an estimate, you are on a lead generation site, not an information site.
We are an independent information service covering solar panels, batteries and export tariffs in the UK. We do not sell solar, we do not install it, and we do not pass your details to anyone who does.
Most of what is written about solar in the UK is written by people who want to sell you some. That is not a conspiracy, it is just how the market pays for its content — and it is why the same questions get answered inconsistently, why grant pages stay wrong for years, and why the honest answer is so rarely “probably not, in your case”. This site exists to answer the same questions with the sources attached and the date we last checked them.
